Located by the Pier in sunny San Clemente the inventive menu
compliments the elegant decor of our 80 seat Gourmet Restaurant. We use Pacific
ingredients with Mediterranean inspiration, mindful that we are located in the
"Spanish Village by the Sea". The menu is online at our website whitehorses.us.
The name White Horses originates from Great Britain where it means the white froth on the crest of the waves. White Caps to Americans and White Sheep to Australians ! The Restaurant is family owned and operated - there is attention to every detail in this Casual Fine Dining Restaurant & Bar.
Our dinner cuisine combines two concepts - one a constant menu so customers have consistency - the other a changing menu so customers (and kitchen) can experiment and have fun ! The consistent side has a choice of meats, fish and poultry - which can be plain, dusted or marinated by customer choice - seared, roasted or grilled - and served with a sauce of choice.
The changing menu is an exciting combination of fresh local (and not so local) ingredients using different ethnic cuisines in an exciting way to give about 10 appetizers, 10 entrees and 10 desserts that change every 8 weeks. This change will coincide with changing the artwork adorning the restaurant walls which is provided by local artists.
We are also extremely proud to announce that we gained two very prestigious awards in October : we were voted the Best Casual Fine Dining Restaurant in OC for 2006/2007 by OC Weekly, we were proud to accepted the award. Our Zagat rating came out and we averaged the highest score in Southern Orange County 26 for Food, 21 for Decor and 25 for Service (all scores out of 30 and 25-30 being exceptional) - the kitchen brigade (Tim and myself) are thrilled with the recognition. Aileen, Carli and the waiting staff are also very proud. So thanks to you our preferred customer for all of your support.
