Village Mediterranean Rim

If you have driven or walked down Del Mar and passed this funky, intimate cafe featuring gourmet fusion food that blends the unique flavors from countries around the Mediterranean, and haven't stopped in for dinner, you are doing yourself a disservice. (South Coast, Summer 2003).

From the moment you walk in, you can tell something's different. The first thing is the open kitchen. There are barstools where you can sit and watch the chef prepare the food. The walls are beautifully enhanced with original paintings. There are only thirteen tables and that made the Village Charm, cozy and eclectic.

This is a restaurant where people fall in love. (San Clemente Journal, Fall 2004). This is a place where time slows down and food tastes better than imagined because Nour Tillo, the owner and head chef is in love with his restaurant. He spends time shopping for fresh seasonal produce of the daily markets and buying whole fish straight from the source that would appear on plates later in the evening served by his daughter Nesreen.

The Village is an example of why guidebooks like Zagat will always fall short of local knowledge. (Rivera, July 2004)
