San Clemente Museum fosters greater visitor and community appreciation. It preserves and promotes the heritage of San Clemente. The San Clemente Historical Society operates the Museum and Research Center in the Historic City Hall at 101 South El Camino Real. The Museum offers ever-changing displays of local history from the time of the Native Americans to the present, with a special emphasis on the Founders Era (1925-1929) and the Nixon Era (1969-81). Visitors can buy maps to historical sites as well as books and mementos of local history. Archivists are available - by appointment only - to assist serious researchers.
